 | | Kerith :: Lodge | | a place to retreat... |

About us::
Ken
and Michelle have been married for 24 years and have 4 children:
Koren, Grace, Ethan, and Noah. We are all involved with the Campus
Crusade for Christ ministry at Western Oregon University in Monmouth as
volunteers. We are also excited to be part of a new church in
Monmouth/Independence that was planted in 2007 and is associated with
the Acts29 network, named West Valley Christian Fellowship.
About Kerith::
The
dream of a retreat place began taking shape in 1992. In 1996, we recognized
God calling us to leave everything that was familiar in Salem and move
to the "wilderness" in Pedee. Journeying through a number of fantastic
events and over some difficult hurdles, we began to develop the property--which
Kenny calls "a lifetime project"--and trust the Lord for His vision,
timing, and provision.
Milestone Timeline:: 1992--dream of a retreat place begins 1996--step foot on the ground (covered in snow!) 1997--take the plunge and acquire the ground, which we call Kerith 1998--move in to our house at Kerith and begin developing and cleaning up Kerith 2000--begin to prepare cabins 2003--apply for zoning adjustment 2004--receive provisional use from county commissioners Horse camp takes place on the newly-zoned area 2005--drill sweet-water well 2007--submit plans to engineer for the Lodge 2008--plans are approved and construction begins on the Lodge 2009--receive Certificate of Occupancy for the Lodge
It is our desire to use our home and this
property as a means to encourage couples and families, individuals,
ministry teams and leadership teams in their walks with the Lord -- as
a place to be rejuvenated and equipped to go back to their front-line
refreshed, and to encourage the family unit or team to be together,
unhurried, and relaxed. We believe that the stronger the family or
team, the better equipped they are to serve the Lord and withstand the
demands of ministry.
Although we have used this property for
various ministries we've been involved with, we are pleased that the
Lodge has been completed so that we can invite others to come, stay, and find
refreshment.
